Change in ASMS Leadership

January 16, 2008

Dear ASMS Member:

The Board of Directors wishes to inform you of an important change in our leadership for 2008. As you know, Dr. Stephen Spencer was scheduled to become President on January 1. Unfortunately, Dr. Spencer was hospitalized last month, and now is recuperating at home. He is doing very well, and will continue on the Board in the capacity of President Elect.

Dr. Alexander Miller, who was just elected for the 2009 term, will instead now serve as 2008 President. We all greatly appreciate his flexibility and collegial spirit. The Society will be in extremely capable hands under his leadership.

Joining Drs. Miller and Spencer on this year’s Board are:

Immediate Past President   Sharon F. Tiefenbrunn, M.D.
Secretary Treasurer   Lee S. Portnoff, M.D.
Board of Directors Members:   Henry W. Clever III, M.D.
    Terrence A. Cronin, Jr., M.D.
    David T. Harvey, M.D.
    Shelley A. Sekula Gibbs, M.D.
    Howard K. Steinman, M.D.
    Paul A. Storrs, M.D.
    Michael J. Wells, M.D.

We welcome your communication on all matters related to your membership and practice of Mohs surgery. We will resume publication of our member newsletter, The Beveled Edge, in the near future, to better inform our physician and technician members regarding ongoing educational programs, member services, and important political and socioeconomic developments. Please do not hesitate to contact Novella Rodgers, Executive Director, at any time with any questions, suggestions or concerns: 800-616-ASMS (2767) or execdir@mohssurgery.org.
